Lois Hitchcock

Lois Hitchcock is a clinical assistant professor of health information management in the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences (BHIS). In this position, she is responsible for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate HIM courses, as well as graduate health informatics courses. She received a BS in health information management from the College of St. Scholastica and an MHA from the University of LaVerne.

She is a member of the BHIS Executive Committee and the AHS Student Affairs Committee. Ms. Hitchcock has been a past representative of BHIS on the College of Applied Health Sciences Executive Committee. Her current expertise in education includes the United States healthcare system, management and business practices, and analysis of healthcare data. Prior to teaching, Lois held the position of director of medical records and quality assurance at a specialty facility, administrative director of HIM at a large, university medical center, as well as manager of client services for a system vendor.
