About

Professor John Orzechowski is a core faculty member for the MS in health informatics program at UIC. Prof. Orzechowski is recipient of the UIC College of Applied Health Sciences Excalibur Award for teaching excellence. He contributes to the program’s highly regarded status through the design/delivery of health information technology (HIT) courses where he is rated consistently high as an instructor. Additionally, Prof. Orzechowski has created courses that have been selected by King Saud bin Abdelaziz University (KSUA) Health Sciences for adoption into KSAU’s MS Health Informatics program.

Professor Orzechowski brings to the University over twenty-five years as a corporate entrepreneur, technology pioneer, and executive consultant for technologies that have advanced the state of health information technology (HIT). He is acknowledged for his expertise in HIT imaging informatics, mobile/wireless data, enterprise content management (ECM/ECRM), and multimedia communications. Prof. Orzechowski brings considerable expertise in strategic innovation and strategy management, transformative business models, technology commercialization, and inculcation of best practices.
