Katelyn Greenhill

A Cleveland native, Katelyn Greenhill has always had a passion for creating. During high school through a series of desperate Google searches to merge her love of art and biology into a career she stumbled upon medical illustration and has geared her life towards that goal ever since. In 2016, Katelyn received her BFA from the University of Toledo with a concentration in 2D media and a minor in biology. During her time at the University of Toledo she interned through the interprofessional simulation center at Toledo’s medical campus under the instruction of medical illustrator, Roy Schneider.

In 2015 her family experienced a medical crisis and after witnessing the lack of visual communication in the high stress environment of an ICU the propose of a medical illustrator shifted for her. Katelyn, now a graduate student at UIC, is working with Dr. Antony Faiola on his research to address this problem through biomedical communication.

As a first year within the program Katelyn is open to many future directions within the field. Medical legal and UI are currently two specialties she is exploring.
