Nova Hayes

Originally from Salt Lake City, UT, Nova has lived and worked in San Francisco, CA for the past ten years. She received her BFA from SFSU and completed science coursework at UC Berkeley. Establishing a career in the art world, representing other artists while developing her own work, brought about the realization that she wanted her work to have a purpose beyond gallery walls and a personal statement. Lightening struck when she discovered that she could merge her love of art and science in the field of medical illustration.

While at heart I’m a traditionalist who loves the directness of sketching and oil paint, I enjoy the philosophical challenge working with concepts in new media and utilizing all the tools available in order to best communicate an idea. I enjoy the role of processing information and incorporating fine-art sensibilities and design to transform it into something beautiful, clear, and applicable.

Upon graduation I would like to do it all! I’d love experience working on a periodical as well as medical legal visualization. I’m sure a specialization will find me, but at this point I would not like to limit myself. My goal is to take on every interesting project that comes my way.
