Born and raised in DeKalb, Illinois, Patrick received his BFA in Illustration from Northern Illinois University before attending UIC. Growing up with interests in science and art was a dilemma until his high school AP Biology teacher mentioned Medical Illustration, and he has since found a home pursuing both.
Patrick’s undergraduate education concentrated on digital design, drawing, and communication, which he will expand upon in graduate school while building new skills in 3D modeling. Physiology and molecular biology capture his academic interests and will become a focus as he finalizes his topic for project research.
After graduating in spring of 2018, Patrick aspires to a career as a medical journal staff illustrator and returning to academia to teach illustration or medical illustration.
