Stephanie O’Neil

Stephanie is from southeast Michigan and attended the University of Michigan prior to entering the Biomedical Visualization graduate program, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Minor in Biology. After learning about the field of medical illustration she decided to focus her undergraduate career on traditional illustration skills, 2d and 3d digital technologies, and biology courses.

While in school, she had the opportunities to work with researchers at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry to create illustrations for publications. After graduating she was an animation intern at a small patient education video company in Baltimore, Maryland. At UIC, she is excited to embrace new technologies such as 3d animation, virtual reality, and interactive design to visualize a variety of scientific and medical subjects.

By integrating these skills, Stephanie looks forward to visualizing complex and unseen scientific worlds to make science more accessible to everyone.
