Steven Hughes

Steven was born and raised in central NJ and graduated with a BS in Marine Science from the University of New England. Science and art have always been important aspects of his life. It had never occurred to him that he could have the opportunity to choose a career path that involved both. Steven learned about the field of medical illustration from a health education company, Artcraft Health, and then began his application for UIC’s Biomedical Visualization program.

Steven is currently a first year student and, so far, has been educated in human anatomy, illustration techniques, modeling and animation, visual learning strategies and more. He is excited to continue his studies and dive deeper into these subjects. He has great interest in anatomy and modeling and he plans to perform research related to injury prevention programs for athletes.

Upon graduation Steven hopes to pursue a career related to athlete education. He believes that athletes of all levels can benefit from learning about common injuries and how to prevent them.
