About
I am the Director of Community Education for the Institute on Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois’ University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). I am part of the NIDLLRR funded Family Support Research and Training Center in two roles: Co-PI of a research project examining to promising practices and Co-Director of the National Resource Center on Family Support. Additionally, I serve in a leadership role with the Sibling Leadership Network. My experience growing up with my siblings with disabilities anchors my work in the field and I am passionate about improving the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
I am dedicated to translating research to policy and practice. Using knowledge translation strategies, I make complex academic information accessible and relevant to diverse audiences who can use the information in meaningful ways. I has over 50 publications, 10 of which are in peer reviewed journals. I have created effective partnerships through her professional and volunteer work on numerous Boards/Committees.
