About

Dr. Brian R. Grossman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He is trained in sociology and public health. His research addresses the personal, familial and social impact of policies that promote justice and equity for older adults and people with disabilities. Dr. Grossman is co-principal investigator (along with Dr. Sandra Magana) for the project to develop a national strategic plan for family support research. He is also currently thinking and writing about how the structure of Medicaid affects the cross-state move experiences of disabled people who use personal assistant services and their families. Dr. Grossman is on the planning committee for the CJE Senior Life LinkAges annual program on disability policy

I am an active participant in the CJE SeniorLife LinkAges Working Group and the Planning Committee for the annual Policy, Advocacy, and You event in honor of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM). I have connected students, faculty, and staff to this event and helped community members learn more about the programming available at UIC and the research produced by DHD faculty.
