About

Randall's interests are in disability policy, human rights of people with disabilities, and policy reforms. These fit into three broad areas: employment and welfare states, managed care and healthcare policy, and state evaluations. He is an investigator/co-principal investigator on three National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTCs): RRTC on Developmental Disabilities and Health (UIC), Family Support RTC (UIC), and the RRTC on Aging with a Long-Term Physical Disability (University of Washington) Randall also works on evaluations of state policy reforms (Support Services Teams, the closure of the Jacksonville Developmental Center, and transitions from State-Operated Developmental Centers) and evaluations of agency/partner programs, notably the ADA 25 Advancing Leadership program that was designed to increase the participation of people with disabilities in Chicagoland civic leadership positions. He is the Principal Investigator on a grant from the State of Idaho to evaluate the use of nonemergency medical transportation services in their Medicaid program. Randall has taught/co-taught DHD 400, DHD 581, and DHD 582.
