About

Brenda has a dual position as a clinical assistant professor and a project coordinator in assistive technology services and training. She coordinates the seating and wheeled mobility services at the Assistive Technology Unit (ATU) within the Department of Disability and Human Development at UIC and provides evaluation, implementation and training services in this area along with the ATU’s physical therapists. Brenda is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development (DHD) and the Department of Bioengineering at UIC. She teaches graduate courses in assistive technology in both the DHD masters degree program and in the assistive technology certificate program. Brenda received a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia with a research concentration in rehabilitation engineering and is a RESNA certified assistive technology professional. Brenda is a frequent national and international conference presenter and contributor and has authored articles on rehabilitation technology.
