We’re here to help. If you have questions about what to do next, contact us.
After You Apply
You’ve applied and submitted your application. Now what?
What's next?
You can check your status online at any time. This will show you a checklist of all your items and if they’re all correct and complete.
Personal interview
If you applied to the coordinated program and are one of our top applicants, you’ll be invited to attend an admissions interview. This will be arranged with the director of coordinated program. Typically, candidates will be interviewed in March or early April.
Departmental review
The time that it takes for an application to go through the review process varies, however placements are generally offered in late April.
After we complete our review of your application, we communicate the recommendations and denials to Admissions and they update the official record. We do this throughout the application cycle.
Graduate college review
In some specific cases, applications we recommend for admission may need to also be reviewed by the Graduate College. The Graduate College may decide to uphold our recommendation or deny the application.
After a decision has been made
Once Admissions enters a decision, the application portal updates and an official decision letter gets mailed out.
If you've been admitted...
Congratulations! Access our Admitted Student page to follow up with next steps!
International students: If you’ll need a student visa, you should submit OIS financial documents for the Office of International Services.
If you need to defer admission...
Unfortunately, we don’t allow deferrals after admittance to our program. If you’re unable to begin our program, you’ll need to re-apply the following year. Oftentimes, letters of recommendation and other supplemental application materials can be kept on file. Please be sure to communicate with the program director if this is your intention.
If you've been denied...
You may contact us directly to inquire about our decision. In some cases, we can advise you on what you can do to improve your applicant profile or successfully apply for a future term.
