Michael Jones

Mike Jones earned his Doctorate in physical therapy and MS in motor control/biomechanics from UIC in 2013. Prior to UIC, he was at the Soma Institute for 13 years as a clinical massage therapy instructor and sports therapy supervisor. He has worked with the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and served as a lead therapist for the Joffrey Ballet and Chicago Marathon elite athletes. He joined the Kinesiology and Nutrition faculty at UIC in 2013 and now operates the undergraduate anatomy program and human cadaver laboratory. Dr. Jones’ research interests have investigated the biomechanics, strength, and sensory changes involved in lower extremity overuse injuries.
