Dr. Kong is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition. She is a registered dietitian and earned her MPH in nutrition from the University of Minnesota and a PhD in nutritional sciences from the University of Washington. From 2010 to 2013, she was a postdoctoral trainee in the NCI-funded Cancer Education and Career Development Program at the Institute for Health Research and Policy (IHRP), where she still conducts research and is an IHRP fellow. Her research seeks to understand how contextual factors (e.g., environment, social and cultural factors, policy, etc.) influence obesity prevention and treatment efforts for minority communities and addresses methodological issues related to dietary assessment.
