About

Dr. Killian has expertise as a healthcare manager and a clinician in acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient and home health settings. Her role at the University of Illinois at Chicago is as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, overseeing clinical fieldwork experiences. She is also the lead instructor for OT 564: Leadership and Management in OT and a facilitator for Synthesis I and III. Additionally, she serves as guest lecturer for several courses.

Dr. Killian is a member of the Illinois Occupational Therapy Licensure Board and the Chicago Area Council of Occupational Therapy Directors. Her scholarly work focuses on leadership development, fieldwork education, and the role of occupational therapy in the primary care setting.

Dr. Killian received her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy at UIC, her Master of Education degree at Marshall University and completed her post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy at UIC in May, 2017 with a focus on occupational therapy leadership development.

Service to the Community

Dr. Killian serves on the Department of Occupational Therapy committees for: Faculty Clinical Practice, Clinical-Academic Collaboration, Fieldwork Subcommittee, Archives and Library, OT Primary Care, and OT Clinical Opportunities. She is also on the College of Applied Health Sciences Clinical Education Committee.
