Susan Magasi is an assistant professor in the Departments of Occupational Therapy and Disability Studies.

Dr. Magasi's research and teaching are focused on healthcare justice for people with disabilities. Specifically, she works closely with the disability community using an equity-focused, community-based participatory approach to help understand and address barriers to primary and cancer care (including access, quality and outcomes) for people with disabilities.

Dr. Magasi is currently the principal investigator on 3 intervention research studies (totally over $1 million dollars in external funding) that focus on the use of peer support to help promote healthcare justice for people with disabilities.

In recognition of innovative research, Susan Magasi was named 2016 Researcher of the Year - Rising Star in the Social Sciences.
