About
Brain plasticity is the ability of the brain to reorganize neural connections through learning or experience. We aim to understand the changes in the human brain that occurs as a result of injury, functional recovery and motor rehabilitation. Our overall mission is to test and develop low cost clinically translatable therapies that enhance brain plasticity to optimize movement recovery.
Currently we are testing and developing non-invasive brain stimulation paradigms (such as transcranial direct current stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation) as adjunct therapies to improve walking in individuals with stroke. We also work with other neurological populations such as Parkinson's Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
